MPalmer Design About

Who I Am And What I Do

Since acquiring education in the graphic arts early in life, I've seen the industry of book making go from film-based flats to computer-to-press, and now again to eBooks on iPads and Kindles. Meanwhile, the internet has been gradually digitizing the way we market, research and communicate at large. In an ever shifting landscape of technological change, it's truly a remarkable and challenging time to take up the mantle of designer—a term that means a lot these days.

Meeting those challenges have their rewards, however. I take pride in staying on the edge of the methods and techniques used in visual communication today, but good design isn't just about flashy graphics; technique and structure is vitally important for both printed and online media. Knowledge of optimum resolutions, file types, or code languages for today's modern printing process or web site design is a must in delivering a final design product of lasting functionality and quality. Where web sites are concerned, a designer is no longer simply a designer—he/she is an information architect, embodying the essence of Saul Bass's "design is thinking made visual".

Whether you're not certain about your final design vision or seek to make something old new again, with ten years of experience in graphic design and twenty collective years' experience in publishing, I have the expertise and experience to make it happen, and make it happen right. If you think I might be the right designer for your project, send me an email for a free quote.
